Nico Rosberg is confident that the Spa-Francorchamps circuit will be one which suits this year's Williams-Toyota, which has picked up points in the last seven Grands Prix. With consistency certainly present on the side of Rosberg, team-mate Kazuki Nakajima will be looking to pick up his first top eight finish of the weekend in Belgium.
Never out of the top five since the Turkish Grand Prix, Nico Rosberg is enjoying what is by far his most unswerving Formula One season since joining the sport with Williams in 2006. With only five days separating the European Grand Prix from free practice at Spa, the F1 circus will spend most of its time travelling this week. "I don't have any plans, really," said Nico. "I'm going home to Monaco and will just be relaxing with friends and fitting in some training."
The longest circuit on the calendar, 4.4-mile (7km) Spa will test drivers over the course of 44 laps on Sunday. "Spa should be good for the team," Nico continued. "It's a very high speed track, very different to Valencia, but our car goes really well everywhere. This track, in particular, will suit our car because we have a strong aero package for the quick corners so I'm looking forward to it."
With team-mate Nakajima currently out of luck and not having registered a points finish in 2009, Rosberg lies fifth in the championship but now only two and a half points ahead of the charging Lewis Hamilton.
