Rubens Barrichello has met up with friend Felipe Massa and is pleased to state that his compatriot is in fine form and 'the same person as before'. The Ferrari driver continues to recover at home in São Paulo after his freak accident in Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying on 25 July.
Having remained in Budapest's ÁEK hospital for over a week, Massa made the way home to Brazil by private jet and will remain there until fit enough to travel, missing as many Grands Prix as are needed in the process. 'I spent the afternoon with Felipe...he is fine and exactly the same person as before, thank God,' Barrichello wrote on Twitter.
Having been struck in the helmet visor by an 800g (1.7lb) steel spring from Barrichello's car, inflicting a deep cut to the head as well as a fractured skull, Rubens stresses that no rush must be made for Felipe's return: 'On Felipe's comeback we need to be patient...he has to be 100 percent before driving again. He doesn't lack the will. I loved the afternoon...he was so well and in good spirits.'
In the meantime, Italian Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer will be driving the No. 3 car, which had been set to see Michael Schumacher until the German was also forced to pull out due to injuries.
