Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton will again be entertaining spectators at DTM's Brands Hatch round the weekend after the Belgian Grand Prix. Appearing on behalf of Mercedes-Benz, the Englishman will be part of a live paddock interview at the circuit as well as a track parade in one of the German manufacturer's road cars.
As German touring car championship the DTM arrives in Kent, Hamilton's presence will confirm a busy schedule for the McLaren driver as the meeting follows two consecutive Grands Prix in Valencia and Spa-Francorchamps. After the interview, two members of the public will get the chance to ride with the Champion around the Brands Hatch circuit as part of Mercedes' 'meet and greet' scheme for any holders of tickets purchased in advance.
"It's great to be going back to the DTM at Brands Hatch again this year," Hamilton said. "It is always fantastic to have the opportunity to spend time with British motorsport fans and thank them for their support.
"I raced in the support series for DTM, F3 Euro Series, for two seasons so had the opportunity to watch most of the races at that time and DTM always sees lots of drama and overtaking and I would definitely recommend it as a good family day out."
"We're delighted that, once again, Lewis Hamilton is able to join us at Brands Hatch for the DTM event," added Jonathan Palmer, chief executive of MotorSport Vision, which owns Brands Hatch. "Lewis thrilled the crowds with his appearance last year and it is fantastic that British fans will have the opportunity to see him again this year as F1 World Champion."
