Jayne McGivern steps in at Donington

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Donington Ventures Leisure Limited (DVLL) has announced that it is employing the services of Jayne McGivern to speed up the construction work at the Derbyshire venue as it races to host next year's British Grand Prix. McGivern has already supervised projects at London venues Wembley Stadium and the O2 Arena.

With some suggesting that Donington Park will not be ready in time to host the British Grand Prix next season, which would be the start of a 10-year contract, DVLL - headed by Simon Gillett - is looking forward to working with the person who transformed the England football team's home ground as well as the concert venue formerly known as the Millennium Dome.

'Jayne is a highly-respected businesswoman who is credited with turning around the Wembley project and was heavily involved in the purchasing of the Millennium Dome from the government to convert it into the O2 Arena,' reads an official Donington Park statement, seen by Associated Press.

'Her appointment is a further signal of Donington Park's strong commitment to delivering a high-quality, fan-friendly Formula One event. Jayne will ensure that all of the new work on-site is completed in a timely manner and to the highest standards.'
